Umar Farooq is a Lecturer in Law (BS-18) at Rasul College of Law, University of Rasul, Mandi Bahauddin. He holds an LLM in Corporate Law from the International Islamic University Islamabad and an LLB (Shariah and Law) from Islamia College University Peshawar. Before joining the University of Rasul, Mr. Farooq gained both academic and professional legal experience. He served as a Visiting Lecturer in Shariah and Law at Islamia College University Peshawar from September 2024 to June 2026 and previously served as a Visiting Lecturer at FATA University. Alongside his academic career, he practiced law in Peshawar, dealing with civil, criminal, and family matters, and was enrolled as an Advocate of the High Court in 2026. Mr. Farooq is actively engaged in legal research and has published research articles in HEC-recognized journals. His published work covers areas including Online Dispute Resolution (ODR), access to justice, e-commerce dispute resolution, sexual offences law, capital punishment, Islamic criminal justice, and Islamic constitutionalism. His research reflects an interest in contemporary legal issues at the intersection of Pakistani law, comparative law, Islamic law, technology, and access to justice. With experience in both legal practice and higher education, Mr. Farooq contributes to legal education through teaching, research, and practical engagement with the legal profession. His academic background and professional experience enable him to bring both theoretical and practical perspectives to the study of law.
